About BLS Salary Lookup

BLS Salary Lookup is a free tool that makes it easy to explore official U.S. salary and wage data published by the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) through its Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics (OEWS) program.

Every year the BLS surveys over 1.2 million business establishments across the country to collect wage data for more than 800 detailed occupations. While this data is publicly available, it is typically released as large Excel files that are difficult to navigate. We present the exact same data in a clean, searchable format — no signup, no paywall.

• National wages for 830 detailed occupations
• State-level data for all 51 U.S. states and D.C.
• Metro area data for 533+ Metropolitan and Nonmetropolitan Statistical Areas
• 10th, 25th, median, 75th, and 90th percentile wages — annual and hourly
• Total employment estimates

Data currency

This site uses BLS OEWS May 2025 data — the most recent release. Data is updated annually when BLS publishes new OEWS estimates (typically March of the following year).
